GraceDrive Holds First MLEC in Leyte

About nineteen selected pastors and Bible school teachers from Leyte and Southern Leyte areas came to attend the first Ministerial Leadership Enrichment Consultation (MLEC) held at the Agricultural Training Institute 8 in Baybay City, Leyte last October 2014.

During the first Leyte MLEC, Pastor Ernest Mark Gapulan gave lectures and spearheaded the forums on Ministry Leadership Values while Brother Evan John Gapulan handled lectures on Church Financial Management which also included hands-on exercises on budgeting and recording.

Indeed, it was an opportunity not to be missed for these ministry leaders. It has been their singular desire to experience such essential trainings that would upgrade their ministerial knowledge, competence, and skill.

Not one pastor went home unhappy. They were overjoyed to receive the book “Leadership Handbook of Management and Administration” freely given by generous partners of MLEC. The forum concluded productively as the leaders themselves developed their own Ministry Leadership Philosophy.

This was conceived out of their earnest understanding on the subject. It reads:

  1. A ministry leader intentionally adopts personal accountability.
  2. Ministry leadership focuses on the development of God-honoring character.
  3. A ministry leader prioritizes the development of spiritual disciplines.
  4. Ministry leadership exemplifies impeccable integrity.
  5. A ministry leader shows compassion in all his dealings.
  6. Ministry leadership encourages vibrant intimacy with God and other relationships.
  7. Ministry leadership seriously avoids settling for mediocrity.
  8. A ministry leader demonstrates a Christ-like servant leadership.
  9. A ministry leader maintains a transparent management of God’s resources.
  10. A ministry leader pursues a Christ-centered vision.
  11. A ministry leader values the welfare and relationship of ministry colleagues.
  12. A ministry leader instigates a healthy collegial atmosphere.
