MLEC Visits the “Last Frontier” of the Philippines

The Island Province of Palawan is often called “The Last Frontier” of the Philippines. Visitors will quickly be enamored by the pristine waters, lush forests, secluded beaches and hidden coves.

What caught my attention however are the evidences of a developing countryside. This brings sophistication and complexity not only in society but also in Christian organizations and churches.

The dilemma of a skyrocketing cost of continuing education and the responsibilities at home and ministries hinder many of the ministry leaders to acquire the essential training to address the need.

After assessing their situation, ministry leaders acknowledged the need to be relevant, especially in preparing Bible messages that connect. GraceDrive responded by inviting 20 pastors last January 2014 to join the MLEC on Biblical Preaching at Dumarao Baptist Church in Roxas, Palawan.

Despite the inclement weather and transportation issues, a good number of ministry leaders came in high spirits and the consultation was highly interactive and productive, with exciting conversations in every coffee break.
